Questions people ask before they hire anyone

The short answers. A call fills in the rest.

Is the first call really free?

Yes. It is a conversation, not a contract. You are not asked to sign anything, and you can end it whenever you like.

What is the fee?

A percentage of what is recovered, set by stage and higher once a lawsuit is filed or the case goes to trial. It is in your agreement before work begins.

What if there is no recovery?

You owe no fee. The agreement says whether you would owe the case costs; it is read to you before you sign.

What are case costs?

The charges of building the claim: medical records, filing fees, an expert's review. The firm advances them and is repaid from the recovery.

How long will my claim take?

It depends on your treatment and on the insurer. A claim often waits months for the doctors to finish, and a lawsuit adds a year or more.

Will I have to go to court?

Most claims settle without a trial. If a fair offer does not come, Antoinette explains the choice and what a lawsuit would involve before you decide.

Should I talk to the other driver's insurer?

Give your name and say your lawyer will call. Do not give a recorded statement or sign a release before you have spoken with someone on your side.

My medical bills are unpaid. Does that stop the claim?

No. Bills and liens are part of the claim, and they are reviewed, and reduced where possible, before the money reaches you.

Do you take cases in Mississippi?

Yes. Antoinette is admitted in Louisiana and Mississippi, and each state has its own phone line.

What do you not take?

Criminal charges, divorces and business disputes. She will point you toward a lawyer who does, if she knows one.

Still unsure? Ask her.

Ask your question on a call, and hear the fee scale in the same breath.
